Adoptions

Clementina

When we rescued Clementina in May 2024, we never imagined her life would change so much.

When we found her, Tina had been run over and left to fend for herself on the side of the road. Her legs were completely destroyed, three of them broken in several places, and we thought she wouldn't survive her surgeries.

However, with the care of incredible veterinarians and four months of rigorous recovery, Clementina learned to walk again, and her appetite continued to improve. However, no one asked about her, and her adoption seemed increasingly distant.

That was until Tatiana showed up.

"Her story moved me terribly. I can't imagine what she must have suffered in that accident, her broken legs… That most people wouldn't give her anything, and besides, no one had asked to adopt her. So, I convinced my family to give us the chance to meet her, even though we didn't feel ready to bring her in right away. I knew she wanted a home, that she deserved it. Within a week, she was already part of us, and we could see that she did everything she could to fit in with our family because we have another dog and a cat here."

Tina is affectionate, playful, and extremely popular in her neighborhood, but her defining characteristic is her nobility.

"She takes pride in her family. Whether it's animal or human. Recently, she defended her cat brother. He had gone outside and was being chased by other cats. Once he came in, she barked at the others, accompanied him, and groomed him to assure him he was safe."

Among her human family, Clementina is deeply loved. Whether by Tatiana's brother, her son, or her mother. She is the princess of the house. She doesn't have a bed because she sleeps on her humans' beds and constantly demands attention every chance she gets, whether it's through nibbling or invading everyone's personal space.

Even with those she doesn't know well, Clementina is gentle and loving. The children in her neighborhood greet her every morning and evening, and with older adults, she is gentle and greets them with the utmost care. She's sensible and smart.

"My life changed dramatically when we adopted Clementina. I never imagined having such a big dog, and she, in all her beauty, is full of love. She's incredibly grateful, and having her in the house has been nothing but enriching. Even when she tries to drive us crazy! She not only taught us that we can save lives, but she also brought us together as a family. Now, we all make sure she's accompanied, fed, and well cared for. We all want the best for her, and we work together to achieve it.

Our family will regret anything but adopting Clementina. Both my mom and I thank God for allowing us to meet and embrace her. Our house may lack food, but never that of my little ones (her animals). Their unconditional love is something I can never repay."
