Don Tito

Don Tito was part of our senior and special needs territorian group for several years.
At the time of his rescue, we noticed one of his front paws was in poor condition. After being examined by the vet, we were told he had likely suffered an accident during his years on the streets, and although his paw no longer hurt, amputation was the most reasonable option.

However, due to his age and health, we decided not to make him undergo surgery and subsequent recovery, so he continued to live with four paws, even though one of them didn't work.
One day, even with his face full of gray hair and crooked paw, Don Tito was fortunate enough to be allowed to join Melany's family, who is now his mama and favorite human.
However, Tito's adoption has been quite different from what Melany imagined.
"Before he arrived home, I saw him as so sick and so old that I thought that I was just giving him a chance to die in a home; I thought he was just going to spend his last days here. But it turned out to be the opposite... I think he still has 100 years of life left!"
Tito will be two years old in June of this year, and he grows stronger and fuller of life every day!

In the first few months after his adoption, Don Tito managed to escape from his front yard to fight with the neighborhood's big dogs, who quickly grew to respect him. When his humans noticed him wandering outside, it took them hours to catch him again. Even with three legs, he's a star marathoner and, without a doubt, the boss of his neighborhood.
Although he doesn't have a single tooth, Don Tito is grumpy, somewhat of a bully, and definitely demanding. Although he behaves quite cranky around others, Tito is spoiled rotten at home. He loves being the first to receive affection and cuddles from his humans.

"Seeing how a dog can change with attention and love is amazing. Tito is completely different from how he was when we first adopted him: he is sweet and oh so funny.
Tito's arrival in my life has taught me about second chances. He taught me that an older dog makes us laugh daily, even with his age and difficulties.
He brought his own unique characteristics to our family, and in doing so, made it whole."
